When CO₂ levels rise, Pelican sends alerts through the web app and, optionally, displays them on the thermostat. The smart system then increases ventilation automatically and when paired with a Pelican economizer controller, adjusts the outside air damper to bring in fresh air.

Always Adapting for Comfort
No matter the mode, The Pelican ecosystem automatically manages everything behind the scenes: responding to each thermostat’s demand and coordinating valves, fans, stages, and plant systems to deliver consistent, reliable comfort. When set to Off, the system automatically purges residual heating or cooling load, then safely powers down equipment to avoid waste and capture the full energy-saving benefit.
Beyond Simple Fan Control
At the thermostat, users can choose betwee Auto and On for basic fan control. Behind the scenes, the Pelican system ensures proper ventilation by guaranteeing minimum fan run-time and maintaining the correct fan speeds. And when connected to a Pelican Economizer Controller, the system also adjusts the outside air damper automatically to meet your ventilation needs.

Wired External Sensor: TA1
This multi-faceted device flexibly measures space temperature, supply temperature, or other essential temperature points to support accurate system control and monitoring.
Advanced Functions:
Monitor and record the discharge air temperature of your HVAC equipment or from a VAV box.
Remote Room Temperature Sensor
Mount the TA1 in a secondary location and weight/average the temperature between its primary thermostat and the TA1 location.
Occupancy Sensor Input
Wire a third-party occupancy sensor’s dry-contact output into the TA1 to utilize occupied/unoccupied thermostat temperature setbacks.
Dry-Contact Input Notification
Pull in a third-party dry-contact input to generate a notification on your Pelican App. Notifications are based on dry-contact state and can be tied into if heating, cooling, or fan are active. Naming of notification are defined in the App.
Stand Alone External Temperature Sensor
Sometimes you need to monitor a water temperature or the outdoor air temperature. Although a TA1 is wired to a thermostat, it can be configured as a stand-alone temperature sensor in the Pelican App.
Advanced Rooftop Controller: PEARL
This device wires directly to a Pelican thermostat to provide intelligent sequencing for advanced equipment and economizer control, ensuring tuned comfort, proper ventilation, and peak energy performance.
Real-Time Demand Ventilation
When paired with a CO₂ Pelican thermostat**, the PEARL continuously monitors occupancy and automatically adjusts ventilation based on real-time demand. It also monitors space, supply, and outside temperatures, and damper position.

This accessory adds two additional modulating outputs to the PEARL, enabling precise heating and cooling modulation to achieve a target discharge air temperature. The PEARL Expansion Module is an optional accessory is designed to expand functionality only when required for specific HVAC equipment, keeping costs down for our customers who do not require the additional outputs.
Human Presence Detection: Pelican Sense
Pelican Sense is a human presence sensor powered by advanced mmWAVE radar technology embedded in a tamper-resistant thermostat vanity plate. Unlike traditional sensors that miss small movements and stationary occupants, Pelican Sense can detect subtle motion such as breathing and heartbeats, ensuring accurate occupancy awareness without compromising privacy.
Pelican Sense operates reliably in challenging environments where traditional occupancy sensors struggle. It is unaffected by temperature variations, direct sunlight, shadows, or changes in ambient lighting. The sensor performs consistently in both brightly lit spaces and complete darkness.
Motion Speed Detection
Using advanced 24 GHz FMCW radar technology, Pelican Sense can detect motion and determine movement speed, enabling more intelligent occupancy detection and activity monitoring.
Extreme Accuracy
Pelican Sense detects micro-movements associated with human presence, including breathing, subtle body movements, and other minute motions. The sensor can determine occupant distance and distinguish between stationary and moving targets, providing highly accurate occupancy detection.
Automated Setbacks
When a space is unoccupied, Pelican Sense automatically initiates configurable temperature setbacks to reduce energy consumption. Occupied and unoccupied set points can be customized based on application requirements and time-of-day schedules.
